Jazz Session 2011 - 2012

Social Jazz Programs 2011 - 2012 season
All Social Dance Programs begin the week of Sept. 12th - 17th, 11 and ends on June 9th, 2012 with our Year End Dance recital. Each social class runs 45 minutes and one hour per week.
(please note that social programs in Ballet, Tap, Ballroom, Latin and Hip Hop are listed on their perspective pages)

Junior Star Competitive
Our Junior Star Competitive programs focus on instilling technique and personality to every members dancing. We help bring out the Dance Star in every child.
1) Novice Junior A Jazz program, (ages 6 to 11) -.
2) Novice Teen Jazz Program, (ages 12 to 16)
3) Competitive Teen Jazz Program, (ages 12 to 16) - Required 2 years of competitive Jazz training to enroll - Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Uniforms
The price of class attire is not included in the fees for the Jazz programs.
Costumes
The price of costumes are not included in the fees for our competitive Jazz program and are considered extra.
Competition Fees
Competition fees are not included in the fees for our Jazz program and are considered extra.
Competitions
Our school attends 3 competitions per year that run in April, May, and June of 2010.

Payment Options
Please note that there are three payment options available.
1) Payment in full
2) Initial payment plus two payments via post dated cheques, Oct. 1, 2011 and Nov. 1, 2011.
3) Initial payment plus nine post dated cheques of equal amounts from Oct. 1, 09 to Jun. 1, 10.

Dance Style Descriptions
Musical Theatre - Consists of mixing Jazz Dance Technique with elements of acting. Stage props are commonly used. ie. furniture items such as chairs, beds, tables, mirrors, etc. Lip sinking to music or dialogue during performances is typical.
Lyrical - Consists of mixing Ballet and Jazz technique. The music is typically slower with emphasis on expression of emotion through the music in the movement. The movements are also flowing in a continous pattern.
Youth Ballet - R.A.D. program materials.
Youth Tap - Steel toed tapping. Elementary and lvl I. Students will have the option of medal testing in this porgram.
Jazz Technique - Elementary and level I. Students will have the option for medal testing in this course.
